Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Oil Painting

I tried to use the color wheel to pick a split compliment harmony, but I think I should have used yellow instead of green. The right way to do it is to first pick two complimentary colors for example; red and green and then use the two tertiary colors next to the compliment. In my case it would have been green with orange and purple. I used green with red purple and blue purple. Using an isosceles triangle on the color wheel makes it easy to figure out.
